Adelaide-based shoegaze alternative band DRAINING are making their long-awaited return with the release of their new single: ‘by your side’. Having spent years refining their sound, DRAINING blends influences from shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk, creating a distinctive musical landscape that’s evolved since their formation in 2017.

After a quiet period of reflection and creative exploration, DRAINING is back with a fresh sense of direction. The new single, ‘by your side’, brings the band's signature soaring leads and ambient textures back to the forefront, layered with an emo influence reminiscent of bands like Gleemer and Only Sibling. It’s a track that feels familiar yet dynamic, pushing their sound into exciting new spaces.

With a discography that includes a self-titled EP, three singles, and their debut album, this new track represents another milestone in DRAINING’s growth as both songwriters and producers. Each release has demonstrated a jump in quality and depth, with this latest single pushing the band into uncharted sonic territories, marking a pivotal point in their 8-year journey.
