BUDD - Ovit 12'' VINYL RE-RELEASE

Legendary Australian stoner rock/grunge band Budd (Jeremy Finlayson, Kerrie Hickin, Chris Wilson) return to The Last Chance to launch the new 12” vinyl reissue of their EP Ovit, out now via Cheersquad Records & Tapes.

The four songs on Ovit (1996) still sound fresh and visceral, a thunderous wall of guitars – all blistering distortion, effects, and a rhythm section that never lets up. Kairos’ electrically charged fuzz melts your speaker cones. 'Synchro' hits psychedelic overdrive with a waterfall of effects pedals, while 'Handle It' rides an alternating quiet/loud dynamic before 'Kneecap' hits the stop/start button, like prime-era Helmet, over breakneck drumming and a gloriously distorted bass sound.

Alongside Jeremy, the original recordings feature Jon Morris on drums and Ngakau Luke-Harris on bass, and to mark the special reissue, Ngakau will be coming down from Brisbane and playing a separate set of his 'era' songs with Budd! A real treat for the band’s fans, Ngakau is an absolute enigmatic legend - a really forceful player and memorable character!

Also on the bill are Melbourne’s high-octane, full-throttle, instrumental stoner rock boogie group Stoner Witch, who shared a split 7” single with Budd earlier in 2025.
